    FORCLAZ TIP: When wearing on your back for an extended period, we recommended you don't carry more than 25% of your own weight to reduce the strain on your back.

    HOW IS BAG VOLUME MEASURED?

    The volume of each backpack is measured using a standard method: we use small balls to fill the main compartment as well as each pocket. We then empty the balls into a graduated container, which provides the equivalent volume in litres.

    TECHNICAL TESTS

    We complete laboratory tests to certify components: fabrics, buckles, straps, foam, zips... for example, for a fabric: resistance to abrasion and tearing, colour-fastness in UV light, resistance to washing, waterproofing, etc.
    A test is then conducted on the finished product replicating the accelerated demands on the bag over the years to check the strength of the assembly.

    At DECATHLON, our products are tested by a panel of users in the use conditions for which they were designed. At FORCLAZ, these tests are organised on the mountains, led by a team of engineers from our design centre, who are responsible for this mission.
