Why create a V2 (version 2) of our iconic MT500 trousers?
The MT500 trousers have been improved. The objective was initially to reduce the carbon footprint of the trousers (see details below). Then, we used your reviews to improve the functional features. Thanks for sharing!
The changes made include the following:
- right and left pockets switched for better smartphone grip;
- more durable COATS yarns used for the assemblies
- double stitching at the rear rise for more durability.
ECO-DESIGN: what improvements have been made?
The dyeing of the components requires a lot of water and also produces waste water. To reduce this environmental impact, we used for the fabric of the reinforcements of our black trousers, a process of mass dyeing called "dope dyed" which integrates the colour pigments during the manufacture of the yarn and avoids dye baths.
This process allows us to reduce the CO2 emissions of the trousers by 14%.
Hybrid structure
Trousers designed with 2 different components:
- a durable fabric (207 g/m2) on the areas that need protection from abrasion (seat, bottom of the leg at the front). This fabric is also stretchy, enabling great freedom of movement. It has a water repellent treatment.
- a light and breathable fabric (150 g/m2) on the rest of the trousers.
What is the water repellent feature of the component?
These trousers have water-repellent zones (lower leg and seat) that prevent water from getting inside the fabric. Please note, this does not mean WATERPROOF.
The water repellent property prevents the trousers from getting wet too fast and slows down the water ingress but will not keep you dry under steady rain. To restore the water repellent property, put the trousers in the tumble dryer on low heat for 10 min. Alternatively, we recommend you wear waterproof over trousers, ref. 8504646.

Hand pocket opening direction
We have deliberately designed the sealing direction of the hand pockets as downwards.
As such, the zip's slider does not irritate you when you tighten the waist belt of your backpack, and your things stay very safe in your pockets!

Fitted cut and use of stretch fabric in the right areas guarantees high comfort levels when moving around.
